“Finland chooses a new leader” by The Week Junior (Pt. IV)
On the 2nd of April, Prime Minister Sanna Marin came 3rd in the nation’s general election, soon to be replaced by Petteri Orpo, head of the National Coalition Party.
Orpo will have to work out which other parties he wants in his government and will only be names Prime Minister once he does. This process could take weeks. He also promised to support Ukraine in the war against Russia, saying “We will do all that is needed to help Ukrainian people, because they fight for us, this is clear.” On April 4, Finland has officially become part of NATO, and Sweden is ready to join after them.
